The building was built as a rental house. It belonged to architect Konstantin Pecken and was built after a project he developed together with architect Eugen Laube. The house is built in the form of typical national romanticism, using a rich range of building materials in the facade decoration and using the motives of the ethnographic patterns of the Latvian people.
