One of the first Art Nouveau buildings in Riga, built in 1901. Rental house. The facades are richly decorated with a series of decorative reliefs in the Art Nouveau ornamental expression. The building at 1 Alberta Street was immediately observed, but assessed quite differently. Like any new phenomenon, Art Nouveau often earned contempt and contempt from contemporaries from the very beginning. Architect A. Vanags wrote about it: “It is a pity this beautiful area, a pity of labor and material. It is clear that the father of this "work of art" wanted to be "modern" and create something original. The time spent could have been better spent… ”
